Born in New York City, Efrain started playing drums when he moved to Miami, Florida at age 10. His professional career started in 1980 in the South Florida club scene and has continued to the present time. In the early ‘80s, he played with Cornelius Brothers and Sister Rose (It’s Too Late to Turn Back Now; Treat Her Like a Lady), with Jimmy Bohorne (Dance Across The Floor), and later with The Drifters and Sister Sledge. In 1988, he found himself on a bigger stage with Expose, while Seasons Change topped the Billboard charts at #1. Efrain then toured with K.C. and The Sunshine Band in the early ‘90s. He is an accomplished studio musician as well. During his career, he has played throughout the United States, in Asia, Africa, Europe, Scandinavia, and the Caribbean. From 1999 to 2011, he settled down in a comfortable house gig and currently continues playing in the South Florida club and corporate scene with the high energy group, X Factor, while freelancing with various other groups.
